Invertebrate Pathology Conference

This 7-hour VIRTUAL online conference will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. The conference will feature the keynote lecture “Spineless: Pathology of the 97 Percent” by Dr. Elise LaDouceur, Chief of Extramural Projects and Research at the Joint Pathology Center. Following the keynote lecture, pathologists, residents, and veterinary students will give 15-minute presentations on their most interesting invertebrate pathology cases during an interactive virtual session via Zoom.
If you wish to present a case, please email Elise LaDouceur (Elise.E.LaDouceur.civ@mail.mil) and Sarah Cudd (Sarah.K.Cudd.mil@mail.mil) with a brief description of the case (i.e. species and disease) by 15 March 2022. Those applicants with chosen cases will be notified by email the same week. Selected presenters will be asked to submit a digital or glass slide and prepare a 2-3 page write up by 15 April 2022.

AAZV 29th Annual Zoo & Wildlife Pathology Workshop 2022

This eight-hour workshop brings together zoo veterinarians and pathologists for a full day of discussion of interesting cases and a didactic lecture on a hot topic in zoo and wildlife pathology. This year's keynote lecture will be “Neurologic disease in wildlife and zoo species” by Molly Church, MS, VMD, PhD, Dipl ACVP, from the University of Pennsylvania. 2022 ACVP pre-meeting workshop

Bone, cartilage, and dental tumors can be "hard", in more ways than one. Our speakers will present a workshop based on material from the fourth volume of the series, Surgical Pathology of Tumors of Domestic Animals: Tumors of Bone, Cartilage and Other Hard Tissues. This meeting will target veterinary students, interns, residents, and anatomic pathologists involved in diagnostics. The conference will be organized into presentations and case-based interactive discussions with digital microscopy files available to registrants prior to the meeting. The presentations will cover preparation of bone and hard tissue sections, integration of immunohistochemistry, radiology and cytology into diagnosis, and key features of common bone, cartilage and hard tissue tumors. Case presentations will be used to illustrate the approach and diagnostic features of different bone and dental tumors.

Workshop on Pathology and Basic Mechanisms of Disease, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Namibia, Windhoek, Namibia

Join Drs. Alves, Fiddes, Asin, and Yabe for a workshop on basic mechanisms of disease with an emphasis on veterinary public health and transboundary diseases of significance to Namibia. This interactive workshop will be presented in a case-based manner with group discussions for optimal learning and highlighting how these diseases might appear in animal populations and veterinary public health in general.
