2023 US Descriptive Veterinary Pathology Course

Are you ready to dive into the depth and wonders of our prestigious annual Descriptive Pathology Course? So save these dates on your calendar! This in-person meeting will have lectures from Dr. Linden Craig (the necropsy queen), Dr. Jey Koehler (the "don't waste words" queen), and Dr. Patty Pesavento (the EM anchor queen) on recognizing, describing, and interpreting gross, microscopic, and ultrastructural lesions as well as choosing and critically evaluating special diagnostic techniques (IHC/ISH/PCR) and understanding macro-micro correlates. In addition to lectures, there are active learning exercises, and FIVE mock tests covering both interpretation multiple-choice and description of digital slides. The Davis-Thompson Foundation presents the CLASS course, focusing on preparing for the ACLAM exam, USDA and PHS regulations, and the NRC and Ag guides. Wildlife Disease Association pre-meeting workshop

The Wildlife Disease Association and the Davis-Thompson Foundation are excited to offer a forensic science pre-meeting workshop prior to the annual WDA meeting in Athens, Georgia.  This workshop will offer training in a number of critical aspects of forensic investigation, particularly those relevant to wildlife species. The content will be delivered through a series of seminar presentations as well as discussions of actual forensic cases involving wildlife.  Topics include chain of custody and security of samples, reporting, timing of death, species identification, documenting method of death, and expert witness testimony.
