LCPG-ACVP travel award was the first monetary award created by the Latin Comparative Pathology Group to help LCPG members to attend and present their research (poster or oral presentation) to the American College of Veterinary Pathologists annual meeting.
Juliana Mariotti Guerra graduated in Veterinary Medicine from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of the University of São Paulo (FMVZ-USP). She finished her residency program in anatomic pathology at the same university, where she also earned her Master’s degree and PhD in the Experimental and Comparative Pathology program. Currently, she is a scientific researcher at the Pathology Center of the Adolfo Lutz Institute and also holds the position of Technical Director I at the Quantitative Pathology Laboratory of the same institute since 2016.
She is a postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Comparative Pathology of Wild Animals in the Department of Pathology at FMVZ-USP. She did short externships at The Infectious Diseases Pathology Branch of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 2017 and at the Louisiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory at Louisiana State University in 2022. This year she received certification in Veterinary Pathology by the Brazilian Association of Veterinary Pathology (ABPV). She also participated on the Scientific Board of ABPV during the 2020-2021. She is a Full Member of The Scientific Research Honor Society – Sigma Xi and an active member of both ABPV and the Latin Comparative Pathology Group.
