Beyond the Backbone: Invertebrate Pathology Day Seminar

The Davis-Thompson Foundation will be hosting the 2nd, biannual, Invertebrate Pathology Seminar on September 27, 2024. This one day, completely virtual, seminar will include case presentations and a keynote lecture by Dr. Michelle Dennis, Associate Professor at University of Tennessee, and co-guest editor of the special issue of Veterinary Pathology on Invertebrate Pathology. Dr. Dennis’s research focuses on aquatic invertebrate diseases, and will be highlighted in her presentation titled “Emerging Diseases in Wild Aquatic Invertebrates.” Following the keynote presentation, the seminar will feature 15 minute case presentations on the gross and microscopic pathology of air, land, and aquatic invertebrates.

Only the guest speaker’s lecture will be recorded (and available to registrants for 14 days). We will not record Case Presentations.
Case submission deadline: 01 August 2024 for topics (species and disease); 06 September (full abstracts).

- Log in to the Davis/Thompson website. If you don’t have an account, create one after clicking the “Log In” button in the upper right.
- Go to the events page, and select “Beyond the Backbone: Invertebrate Pathology Day Seminar”.
- Scroll down the page – if you see a countdown timer, you’re all set! If not, scroll down to “Tickets” and purchase your ticket.
- At the day of the event, approximately 10 minutes before the event, the countdown timer will turn into a button labeled “Start”. That will take you to the conference!
You must be signed in to the Davis-Thompson Foundation website to register. We recommend each ticket holder purchase their own ticket under their login (avoid purchasing on behalf of others).
