Overview
This workshop introduces cytology for anatomic pathologists, geared primarily at trainees and early-career diagnosticians/pathologists. Topics include sample collection, slide preparation, and staining, followed by the general approach to a cytology slide, including artifact, non-cellular “background”, and difference in color between H&E and cytology stains. Examples of normal tissues will be provided as well as our approach to inflammatory, infectious and neoplastic lesions. The day will end with several case discussions.
