Workshop on Pathology and Ruminant Diseases, University of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences Lahore, Pakistan
Join Drs. Ahmed, Brown and Gaffney for a workshop studying pathogenesis of the major diseases of cattle, focusing on respiratory diseases, hemoparasitic diseases, and clostridial infections.
This interactive workshop will be presented in a case-based manner with group discussions for optimal learning and highlighting how these diseases might appear in wild hoofed stock
Participants will work through mechanisms of necropsy, doing hands-on practical exercises, to include the entire necropsy procedure as well as sampling and packaging.
Location: in person only at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore, Pakistan

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Explain basic mechanisms of disease for major diseases of concern in ruminants in Pakistan
- Perform a necropsy on a small ruminant, with collection and packaging of tissues in an appropriate manner for use in the laboratory
- Use history, clinical signs, and gross lesions observed to create a list of differential diagnoses
March 21

Afternoon:
- Two groups will be separated to: 1) do necropsy and packaging; 2) wildlife discussions.
March 22
Morning:
- Respiratory diseases – case-based learning.
Afternoon:
- Groups alternated: 1) wildlife discussions; 2) do necropsy and packaging.
March 23
Morning:
- Blood Parasites – Babesia spp, Anaplasma spp., Theileria annulata – case-based learning.
Afternoon:
- Discussion on diagnostics and management of all diseases covered.
- Distribution of certificates.
- Closing Ceremony.
