Signalment:Captive, aged (estimated >25-year-old) gopher tortoise

History:Aged, captive gopher tortoise with lethargy and polyostotic shell lesions on CT scan, though no gross abnormalities of the shell appreciated externally. Biopsies were taken of the carapace overlying and adjacent to a focus on bone loss as seen on CT.
